Business Development Manager

Location: Japan (Tokyo)

Your tasks:

  • Promotion of the Polish economy:
    • support export development and Polish foreign direct investments in Japan
    • support development of FDI to Poland
    • promote Polish export potential, including the science and technology sector
    • promote the Polish Economy Brand
    • creates a positive image of Poland as an attractive investment destination

  • Commercial co-operation with the host country, specifically:
    • analysis of the current state and development direction of the host country economy
    • analysis of trade balance with Poland and identification of export niches
    • analysis of barriers and difficulties regarding market access for Polish products; as well as proposals for action in order to eliminate such barriers
    • undertaking intervention on behalf of Polish companies that co-operate with the host country
    • maintaining contacts with the Government Administration and Chambers of Commerce in the host country, especially with regards to bilateral co-operation
    • participation and facilitation of bilateral economic consultations with the host country
    • initiating actions for the development of economic co-operation with the host country

  • Support for Polish companies in the host country:
    • inform about the conditions for doing business and investment in the host country
    • answer queries from Polish companies
    • facilitate trade missions from Poland to the host country
    • organize information desks at trade shows
    • participate in the realization of EU-funded trade promotion programs

  • Office administration and record keeping:
    • assist with preparation of internal reports;
    • assist with maintenance of records
    • execute other administrative tasks as requested by the Bureau Chief or Project Manager
    • occasional translation

  • EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai:
    • develop and maintain a strong network to promote Poland’s EXPO activities
    • serve as the contact person of the Tokyo Office for EXPO 2025 inquiries
    • support the EXPO Department upon consultation with the Bureau Chief or Project Manager in the organization and promotion of the Polish Pavilion
    • assist EXPO-related trade missions and delegations from HQ

Our expectations:

  • higher education
  • min. 5 years of professional experience, preferably in the area of business development
  • native-level Japanese language skills
  • advanced knowledge of English (C1)
  • basic knowledge of Polish will be an advantage
  • very good knowledge of: MS Office and CRM service
  • experience in working in an international environment
  • experience in project management
  • political and economic knowledge of Japan
  • readiness for business trips mainly in Japan
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in keigo
  • good communication skills, a can-do attitude, initiative in creating new solutions and projects
  • great organizational skills and attention to detail
