PAIiIZ & China Exim Bank
On 1 September, PAIiIZ president Sławomir Majman signed a cooperation agreement with the Export-Import Bank of China. The agreement aims to support and facilitate the development of Chinese investments in Poland.


Agreement between PAIiIZ and China Exim Bank

The Export-Import Bank of China is a state financial institution supporting export and import trading activities and foreign economic cooperation of China. The main function of the bank is to provide financial support for exports of Chinese products. The institution works for the development of international relations in the context of economic and trade cooperation.

A survey on investment climate in Poland

„Made in Jelcz-Laskowice”
In 21st August, the millionth product rolled of the production line of Toyota Motor Industries Poland (TMIP) factory. It was a diesel engine with a capacity of 2.0 liters, designed for Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) in Burnaston.

The first engine produced in TMIP within the mass production rolled off the assembly line in March 2005. The 500th - in 2009. Millionth unit "Made in Jelcz-Laskowice" is an engine of the AD family with a capacity of 2.0 liters which will be installed in Toyota Avensis. Next spring, TMIP Company celebrates the 10th anniversary. (Toyota Motor Industries Poland)

Pomeranian SEZ with Airbus
Pomeranian SEZ has signed an agreement with Airbus Helicopters, which belongs to the Airbus Group - a global pioneer in aeronautics, space and defence-related services, creating cutting-edge technology.

Agreement aims to the creation of effective linkages between the development of innovative science and entrepreneurship in areas managed by the Pomeranian SEZ. Cooperation between Pomeranian SEZ and Airbus implies the implementation of the development projects for Polish economy, the creation of educational programmes for future employees in the aviation sector, information and promotion activities. Polish investor in Kielce
City of Kielce gained a new hi-tech investor. On 2nd September Polish Transition Technologies SA office was opened.

Transition Technologies implements IT projects for such clients as Airbus, Sony, Ferrari, Continental, Audi. The office in Kielce will handle the orders for the automotive industry. (UM Kielce)

New jobs
In August, Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park has sold the plot to the company SPX Flow Technology Poland. The land lies in the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone.

SPX Flow Technology Poland plans to expand production facilities and conduct research and development activities. The company will create 200 new jobs, the total value of investment will reach PLN 155 mln.

SPX is a global company based in Charlotte, USA. The company provides solutions in the field of process engineering, the dairy and food industries. (BPPT)

Employers' plans for the upcoming months
PAIiIZ and Randstad invite to a press conference devoted to the forecasts of the labour market by the end of 2014. The meeting will be held on September 10, 10.30 at PAIiIZ.

During the meeting, the latest results of the Randstad’s and TNS’s survey conducted in August will be presented.

New opportunities for entrepreneurs
On 15 September, at 10 am in PAIiIZ a conference "EU Funds 2014-2020 - a new perspective - new opportunities for entrepreneurs” will be held.

During the conference, representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Regional Development and NCBiR will provide information on the principles of providing financing to entrepreneurs in the coming years. They will also inform about the possibility of obtaining financing for investment projects, and research and development.

Companies from Eastern Poland: towards UAE and Sweden
The call for applications from companies based in Eastern Poland to participate in food fairs SIAL ME in the United Arab Emirates and in subcontracting fairs ELMIA in Sweden is ongoing.

PAIiIZ has called for applications to co-fund the participation in the SIAL MIDDLE EAST 2014 in Abu Dhabi (UAE) for food industry. The fairs will be held on 24-26 November. Twenty enterprises can take part in the trip.

Poland-Korea Economic Forum
PAIiIZ took the patronage over the Polish-Korean Economic Forum. The meeting will be held between 29 and 30 September at the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw.

Participants of the forum will discus investment opportunities of Poland and Korea, bilateral economic relations in the areas of trade, investments and public procurement. Industrial Investment of the Year

Poland: a lider of growth in Europe
According to the report of the Polish Bank Association, Polish economy and the banking system not only emerged unscathed from the global economic crisis, but has been strengthened by nearly 4% average annual increase in GDP in the years 2006 to 2013.

The report “Poland and Europe - crisis and the consequences" points, that among the 28 EU member states, Poland is on the third place in terms of prospective GDP growth in 2014 - 2019. This is an increase of investments in Poland, which is a result of, among others, the maintenance of special economic zones which has a major impact on optimistic forecasts.

In the period 2006-2013 the Polish export of goods grew annually, an average, over 6.3% and import over 5.3%. Both in terms of import and export growth in 2014-2019, Poland will be second in the EU - experts claim.

The unemployment rate dropped only in four EU countries, including Poland, where the decline amounted to 3.5%. The best result was recorded in Germany, where unemployment has fallen by 5%. In the perspective of five years, unemployment in Poland is going to be reduced by 0.6%. (ZBP)

Polish GDP
According to preliminary data published by Polish Central Statistic Office (GUS), in Q2 2014, Polish GDP was higher by 3.3% compared with the same period last year.

The driver of GDP growth was the services sector. Consumer spending, investment and exports affect these good results. The preliminary data published by GUS show a slight slowdown of Polish GDP compared with earlier forecasts. (GUS/MG)

Polish companies dominate in CEE
PKN Orlen is unquestionable leader among the biggest companies in Central Europe. Hungarian energy company MOL is on the second place and Czech Skoda Auto on the third position. Poland, ahead of the Czech Republic, holds the largest number of companies in the statement. These are the main conclusions of the eighth edition of the ranking "CE TOP 500", prepared by Deloitte.

Among the biggest companies in Central Europe, those form energy and fuel sector still dominate, taking seven out of ten first places in the list of "Top 500 CE". Jeronimo Martins Poland was ranked 8th, with revenue growth of 13%. The next two Polish companies were PGNiG and PGE, respectively, on 9th and 10th position. Poland is still the undisputed leader in the region. As many as 55% of Polish companies recorded growth of revenue.

High streets as the future of Polish cities
High streets do have a chance to soon become an interesting alternative for tenants facing the issue of lack of available space in inner-city shopping centres -the report by BNP Paribas Real Estate in collaboration with the Polish Council of Shopping Centres shows.

International Defence Industry Exhibition
The most significant exhibition event in Central Europe - International Defence Industry Exhibition organized by Targi Kielce has just finished.

During this year’s fair, a contract for the production and supply of Air Defence System Grom for the Lithuanian army was signed by Mesko. For the first time, a modern miniaturized night-vision goggles PNL-2AD/M Starling's PCO there were shown. Additionally, the Polish Armaments Group PGZ was inaugurated.

The way to success - The Witcher

More than 200 awards worldwide for “The Witcher” series and over 8 million sold games - that is how CD PROJECT’S summary of the first half of this year look like. The third game of the series entitled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” has been announced and is set to be released on the 24th of February 2015.

The third part of the game has already conquered player’s hearts at the biggest trade fairs such as E3 in Los Angeles and Gamescom in Cologne.

Production of video games began in 2002. A year later, the studio began the work on its first role playing game, based on the novel of Andrzej Sapkowski. The game was released in October 2007 and was a great success on a global scale. From 2012, both the first and second part of The Witcher are available on Apple computers.

Since July 2013, the studio is also present in Krakow, where operating in the Kraków Technology Park team is working on new productions of the company. This year, CD PROJECT plans to release “The Witcher Adventure Game” in the classic board version and in a modern one for mobile devices. “The Witcher Battle Arena” for mobile devices is based on modern model of micropayments.
