The mission of Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park (SSTP) is to stimulate the economic development of the city of Sosnowiec and the Silesian Voivodship by attracting, supporting and developing innovative businesses operating in the high-tech sector.

The purpose of the Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park is to actively participate in the economic life of the region and the city by creating favourable conditions particularly for businesses, business support organizations, and scientific and research establishments for the development of innovative solutions and new technologies. Other objectives include the support of the regional development, creation of new steady jobs, knowledge transfer and the commercialization of high technologies.

The Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park cooperates with the city authorities, local authorities and regional organizations by engaging in activities designed to stimulate entrepreneurship and development, exchange technical thought, organize trainings and present the achievements of the region.

Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park was established under the key project: Economic Silesian Gate Stage I: Beginning of Zagłębiowska Economic Zone - Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park, task 1 and task 2

The project was co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the Regional Operational Programme of Silesia in 2007-2013, Priority I: Research and technological development, innovation and entrepreneurship, Operation 1.1 Resumption of investment attractiveness of the region.

Agreement with the Marshal Office of the Silesian Region was signed in June and in August 2010 , and realization have been launched following the signing in July 2011 contracts with tenderer selected for the realization of investment - the company Skanska SA.

The opening ceremony SPNT was made by the City Hall in Sosnowiec, May 7, 2012.

Municipality of Sosnowiec emerged in the procedure concession, in accordance with the Law on Concessions for Construction Works and Services dated 9 January 2009, the park operator, which is the Local Development Agency SA by signing the Concession Agreement on Services July 25, 2012. The acquisition of SPNT took place 3rd August 2012, the present work is ongoing to populate Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park of innovative companies and the existence of Park as a platform for the exchange of knowledge between science and business. Acquisition of SPNT occurred Aug. 3, 2012. Currently there are taking place actions to populate Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park of innovative companies and initiate the existence of Park as a platform for the exchange of knowledge between science and business.

The Board of the Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park

The Board holds scientific and factual supervision over the functioning of the Park and acts as its ambassador in the field of science and economy. It supports the Director in terms of the development and co-sharing of the Park. The Board is responsible for: approving the Park documentation, approving the evaluation criteria for potential tenants, evaluating plans for the Park development and operation from the scientific and technical point of view, programming the directions and trends in the Park development in cooperation with the Director.

The members of the Board are:

  • prof. dr hab. Inż. Zygmunt Wróbel - University of Silesia - Director of the Institute of Computer Science; President of the Park Board
  • dr inż. Arkadiusz Szmal - Silesian University of Technology - Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre at the Silesian University of Technology
  • prof. dr hab. n. med. Krystyna Olczyk - Medical University of Silesia in Katowice- Vice-rector for Postgraduate Training
  • Marek Drożyński- representative of the City Hall in Sosnowiec,
  • Artur Wiśniewski - Economic Advisor to the President of the Sosnowiec City Council.

Build an innovative image of your company

SSTP offers an opportunity for promotion and influences the image of each company operating within it by:

  • presenting the company and its products at conferences, events and trade shows organized by the Park
  • presenting the company outside the Park
  • posting information about the company including its logo on the Park’s promotional and informational materials, and in press releases
  • distributing the company advertising materials among entities cooperating with the Park

The SSTP facility consists of two buildings:
