PAIH’s new office in Ukraine

Last month, after Kiew, the next office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency inaugurated its operational activity in Ukraine. On August 19, an office in Lviv was opened. However, the agency will not stop there and plans to create at least one more office in one of the other foreign markets on which PAIH has not operated on before.

The opening of our representative office in Lviv is a response to the growing trade and economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine in the difficult time of Russian aggression. In 2023, for example, Poland was the largest importer of Ukrainian goods and the second exporter to Ukraine after China, with a trade turnover of over $11 billion. This was simply what Polish business, which is increasingly willing to participate in projects related to the reconstruction of Ukraine, expected from us - emphasized PAIH’s Chairman Andrzej Dycha.

The economic importance of Lviv has increased, among other things, as a result of the relocation of many companies from the central and eastern parts of Ukraine, as well as the location of international organisations in the city. Investment zones and industrial parks are also developing in Lviv, creating the environment for future investments.

The need to open a PAIH Lviv representative office was also strongly emphasized by Ukrainian partners during the 9th meeting of the Polish-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, which took place on March 11, 2024 in Lviv. Due to the limited possibilities of business trips to Poland, it was crucial to create a convenient contact platform on the spot for Ukrainians.

The Agency's Lviv office will also closely cooperate with PAIH’s Regional Offices in Lublin and Rzeszów, which were launched at the beginning of the year.

Even now, only three weeks after the start of our activity, we can see great interest in our activity in Lviv. Numerous companies from both Poland and Ukraine have contacted us. That is why we have planned a number of business networking events in our new location in the autumn. More details and a full schedule of meetings soon - added Karol Kubica, head of the newly established PAIH facility.
