Polish - Azeri Round Table in Warsaw

Entrepreneurs from Poland and Azerbaijan met in Warsaw to talk about joint business activities. The head of the PAIH Foreign Trade Office in Baku, Elnara Mammadova, presented the Office's achievements in connection with the expansion of Polish entrepreneurs to Azerbaijan.

Due to its favorable geographical location and rapidly growing infrastructure, Azerbaijan is being now kind of the transit point. Nemat Naghdaliyev, sales representative of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, emphasizes that Azerbaijan should be seen as the centre of the region, not only the single market. -Thanks to our country the access to the Iranian or the Commonwealth of Independent States markets is possible - adds Naghdaliyev.

The Azeri government supports foreign investments creating favorable conditions, among others, in technology parks. Registering a business in Azerbaijan takes from 3 up to 5 days. In addition, a double taxation avoidance agreement is in force between Poland and Azerbaijan, which means that in the case of physical persons, if certain formal conditions are fulfilled, Polish residents may be exempt from taxation in Poland of income earned in Azerbaijan. An attractive investment climate makes Azerbaijan rank 57th among 190 countries in the Doing Business ranking.

The head of ZBH in Baku, Elnara Mammadova, says that the most important are personal meetings with Azerbaijani entrepreneurs. -The participation in trade fairs in Azerbaijan is particularly important because most Azerbaijani companies do not have websites. That is why it is important to get direct contacts. She also adds that the experts from the Foreign Trade Office in Baku help all those interested in investing in Azerbaijan to find potential partners. -The most important exhibition event in the near future will be the BakuBuild 2018 construction fair, during which Polish Investment and Trade Agency will organize a national stand.

The research of the Foreign Trade Office in Baku shows that interest in the Azerbaijani market among Polish businessman is constantly growing. -The food industry, cosmetics, furniture, building materials enjoy particular interest. Export machinery and equipment for production and extraction of oil and gas as well as machinery and equipment for processing, for example, packaging production, are equally promising for Polish exports - explains Elnara Mammadova.

The Round Table Poland - Azerbaijan took place on 4 September 2018 in Warsaw. The event also included B2B meetings between Polish and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs. We invite all those interested in investments in Azerbaijan at PAIH EXPO 2018 – The First Trade & Invest Forum on 25  October 2018, where Foreign Trade Office in Baku will present market reports on prospective industries in Azerbaijan.
