Royal Canin to invest in Poland

On October 27th, 2005 an investment agreement on constructing a Polish plant of Royal Canin was signed. French company will construct a production facility in Niepo這mice at cost of EUR 50 million. Over 150 people will be employed.
Royal Canin, French producer of healthy food for dogs and cats, will build its factory on a 10-ha-plot in Niepo這mice. The land was provided by Ma這polskie Industrial Parks (company established by the authorities of Ma這polskie voivodship in connection with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG investment in Niepo這mice - 95%) and Krak闚 Industrial Park (5%).

The construction works will be commenced in February 2006, the state-of-the-art technologies are planned to be used there. The beginning of production activity is scheduled for the middle of 2007. Initially, the production will amount to ten thousands of tons of food. Eventually, the production will probably reach the level of 100,000 to 150,000 tons annually (it will depend on the demand on the Central Europe market). Royal Canin also intends to increase the amount of Polish ingredients in its products.

Royal Canin was set up in 1967 by Jean Cathary. The headquaters is situated in Aimargues, France. Its products are sold in 90 countries worldwide by vets and zoological shops. There is also a special line of products for fanciers. In 2004 the company employed 2,200 people. There are plants in France, RPA, USA, Brasil, Argentine and Russia at the disposal of the company. In 2004 the Royal Canin incomes amounted to EUR 742 million.
