The Ningbo Tuopu Group is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. It is a technology leader in the production of car components, operating in the industry for over 30 years. The investor cooperates with world leaders in the automotive world, among them- Audi, BMW, Fiat-Chrysler, GM, Geely, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen. The company has its headquarters in Ningbo, China – where there is also one of their R&D centers that supports the company's projects around the world. In addition, Tuopu factories, offices and R&D centers operate in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Malaysia, and in Europe - in Sweden, Germany and France. The plant in Poland will produce sub-frames for electric cars. In addition, what is particularly important, the investor is still actively looking for local suppliers. Support in the implementation of the project was provided by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

Companies from industries such as the automotive and electromobility are among those that are currently most willing to invest in the Poland’s Investment Zone. Thanks to this investment, another 450 new jobs may be created in Poznań. This is proof that global corporations - despite the ongoing epidemic - appreciate the attractiveness of our country for investment. In the first quarter of 2021 alone, nearly a hundred decisions were issued to support investments with a total value of nearly PLN 4 billion, which proves the strength and potential of the Polish economy - emphasizes Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development, Labour and Technology.

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency supported Tuopu from the moment they took the decision to locate their investment in Poland. As part of our service , we helped the company not only to learn about the support tools available, but also indicated the optimal ones, suited to the entire project. In addition, the company could count on our support in their contacts with developers and coordination of relations with public administration bodies. The plant in Poznań is the company's first factory in Europe. Interestingly, there is a lot of interest among Chinese investors among car parts sub-suppliers, as well as producers of batteries and their components for EVs. I hope that Tuopu's decision will be a stimulus for other investors who are considering implementing their projects in Poland. Every month there are more and more reasons for choosing Poland - says Marcin Fabianowicz, deputy director of the Investment Center at the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

In Poznań, the project will be implemented by the Polish developer 7R, in 7R’s City Park in Poznań-Franowo. The plant, with an area of over 30 thousand square meters, will be built in the Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone. A highly robotic welding line is to be operated in the factory. Thanks to the investment, 450 people will eventually find employment there, however, the company plans to already employ 20 people this year. The Chinese investor is looking for, not only qualified specialists and engineers, but also an efficient team which will support the operational processes.

The location of the new Tuopu investment in Poznań was largely determined by Poland’s strategic location on the map of Europe. The decision was also influenced by the well-developed base of sub-suppliers and the local infrastructure, as well as very good facilities and the industrial environment there. We appreciate the support of the local and public authorities throughout the process, especially from the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. The support of PAIH and the City of Poznań helped us a lot, including in the building of a base of local sub-suppliers, as well as in the conditions offered to us, related to locating investments in this region - said Bob Zheng, General Director of Tuopu Poland.

- We are very pleased that Tuopu has decided to locate its first factory in Europe in Poznań. The components provided by the company will be used to build electric cars, which are gaining in popularity. The new investment creates 450 jobs, including many specialized ones. We are also pleased with the willingness of Tuopu to cooperate with regional sub-suppliers - emphasized Jacek Jaśkowiak, Mayor of Poznań.

- We are trying to create a pro-investment atmosphere in the city, supporting companies operating their business here. The choice of Poznań-the capital of the Wielkopolska confirms that our region is attractive for the automotive industry. Poznań’s location, between Warsaw and Berlin, and access to sub-suppliers in the close vicinity, create a good climate for the development of this industry. For years, Poznań has been perceived as the so-called "Gate way" to Europe by Asian companies - adds Bartosz Guss, Deputy Mayor of Poznań.

Why Poland?

In Europe, Poland is one of the main suppliers of car components and parts for the global automotive players. It is not without significance that the new "Silk Route" passes through our country, and most domestic companies are able to deliver the necessary parts to important ports and factories within 24 hours. This is crucial in the entire production process. PAIH’s experts also point out that Poland records numerous investments in the electromobility sector and cite examples of projects it has supported: LG Chem's investment in the largest electric car battery factory in Kobierzyce, Daimler's investments in Jawor, Volkswagen in Poznań and SK Innovation in Dąbrowa Górnicza. These projects, and now the Tuopu investment, stimulate the emergence of a cluster of EV solutions in our country.
