The Polish Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka showered with international awards

The Polish Pavilion project has also won a number of prestigious industry and international awards. In 2025, the Pavilion was honoured with among others, the Gold Award – Poland, Silver Award – Poland Pavilion and Bronze Award – Poland Pavilion. At the beginning of 2026, this collection was joined by the elite London OPAL Award – Outstanding Property Award in the Architectural Design category.
Gold from the Bureau International des Expositions – the highest recognition of the Expo world
The most important confirmation of the quality of Poland’s presence in Osaka was the Gold Award awarded by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) – an institution supervising and evaluating world exhibitions.
Poland received gold in the "Exhibition Design" category for pavilions built independently in the medium category (up to 1500 m²). The jury appreciated the coherent concept of the exhibition, the skilful combination of natural materials with modern, interactive forms of presentation, and the narrative based on the emotions and experience of visitors.
This award was donated by PAIH for auction at the 34. Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The trophy was auctioned for the amount of PLN 2650. becoming a sign of solidarity and social sensitivity.
Silver and bronze in the World Expolympics competition
During the World Expolympics competition, referred to as the "World Exhibition Olympiad", the Polish Pavilion won two more awards.
The Silver Award in the "Best Exhibition/Display" category was awarded for the installation "Plantation of Ideas". The jury appreciated the innovative solutions presented by Polish companies, responding to global challenges related to the quality of life, environmental protection, health and technologies of the future.
The Bronze Award in the "Best Medium Pavilion" category was awarded for the overall concept of the project, the experience of visitors and the organization of the space. The jury emphasized the consistency of architecture, content n of creativity with the business function of the pavilion.
London Architecture Award – OPAL Award
The good streak continued even after the end of the exhibition. In January 2026, the project won the OPAL Award London – Outstanding Property Award in the Architectural Design – Exhibition – Cultural category.
The international jury appreciated the architecture of the pavilion: the organic, undulating form made of natural wood and the spiral geometry, which became one of the symbols of the Expo in Osaka. The project was awarded for its modern approach to the interpretation of national identity through the language of contemporary architecture.
Measurable economic effects
Participation in EXPO 2025, which PAIH was responsible for, brought multidimensional benefits. It strengthened Poland's image on the international arena and increased interest in the Polish economy and its export offer.
A key element of the program was the direct promotion of companies. The Polish-Japanese Export Forum, the Polish-Japanese Investment Forum, the commercial partnership program for private companies and the permanent presence of entrepreneurs in the Polish Pavilion have created a real space for establishing business relationships, talks with partners from Asia and concluding specific contracts.
