MAN continues to invest in Poland

MAN Truck & Bus is consistently implementing its growth and transformation strategy and continuing to invest in its MAN Trucks Sp. z o.o. plant in Niepołomice, near Kraków. These activities stem from an agreement reached with employee representatives as part of the company’s future programme, which defines investment in the next generation of vehicles across MAN’s European production network. The projects now approved represent the practical implementation of this strategy.

During a visit by Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance and Economy, an agreement (MoU) covering investments of approximately 1.2 billion euros through 2038 was signed in the presence of Artur Osuchowski, President of PAIH, and Andrzej Kulig, President of the Kraków Technology Park. Until 2030, the priorities will include expanding the Niepołomice plant, preparing for the next generation of trucks based on the TRATON Modular System (TMS), and increasing production capacity.

Niepołomice as a strategic production hub within MAN’s network

The first phase will involve launching production of truck bodies in their raw state and establishing a paint shop, as well as expanding cabin assembly operations. To this end, additional modern and sustainable production halls will be built for the manufacture of painted truck bodies. Once the expansion projects are completed, the plant’s floor area is expected to approximately double, from 130,000 to 270,000 square metres. This will significantly increase the scope of value-added processes carried out at the plant and create the foundation for producing the next generation of trucks. At the same time, MAN is strengthening the role of Niepołomice within its production network and laying the groundwork for further growth and the creation of new jobs in the region. Further investments in future products are planned through 2038.

Electrification of the portfolio and production network

Alongside the expansion of its production operations, MAN is launching production of additional fully electric vehicles in Niepołomice. From mid-July 2026, the MAN eTGL will be produced entirely at the plant. With the production of the MAN eTGL light-duty truck and the MAN eTGM medium-duty truck, Niepołomice will become MAN’s second electrified production site after Munich, where the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS heavy-duty electric truck models are produced.

As a result, MAN will offer a comprehensive portfolio of fully electric trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 12 to 50 tonnes, covering all major transport applications, from light urban distribution to heavy long-haul transport.

In addition to electric trucks, fully electric Lion’s City E buses are also produced in Poland at MAN’s bus plant in Starachowice. Many of these buses are already operating on Polish roads, with more being added on an ongoing basis. Electric buses produced in Starachowice are also exported to other markets.
