The Suwałki Special Economic Zone was established in 1996 and is located in north-eastern Poland, in the geographic center of Europe. The main European communication and transport routes, leading from north to south and from east to west of Europe, as well as important transit routes intersect here: Berlin - Warsaw - Grodno - St. Petersburg, Warsaw - Tallinn (part of Via Baltica) and a section of the Via Carpatia route. Rail Baltica - a railway line that is part of the trans-European transport corridor. The Suwałki Special Economic Zone covers all counties of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, 2 counties of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship: Ełk and Gołdap and 4 counties of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship: Łosicki, Ostrowski, Sokołów and Węgrowski. The area of the Zone covers an area of 26,414 km² (2,641,400 ha).

Advantages and successes of the Suwałki SEZ:
  • excellent location - due to among other things, the developing transport infrastructure and the neighborhood with Russia, Lithuania and Belarus - is an area enjoying increasing popularity of investors,
  • the leading industries of the area managed by Suwalska Special Economic Zone are: wood (including furniture and interior design), metal, machinery and plastics. The manufacturers are valued producers on world markets,
  • the region managed by SSSE S.A. is characterized by an unpolluted natural environment, which positively affects the development of the food industry, while the picturesqueness of the lake district is conducive to the boatbuilding and yacht industry,
  • SSSE S.A. has a wide selection of investment plots of various sizes and provides advice on state aid,
  • the proposed investment areas, located in modern industrial districts of cities and municipalities of north-eastern Poland, in most cases equipped with the necessary technical infrastructure.
