The Suwałki Special Economic Zone S.A. was established in 1996. It is located in north-eastern Poland, in the geographical centre of Europe. The main European communication and transport routes, leading from north to south and from east to west of Europe, and important transit routes: Berlin - Warsaw - Grodno - St. Petersburg, Warsaw - Tallinn (part of Via Baltica) and a section of the Via Carpatia route intersect here. This is also where Rail Baltica has - a railway line that is part of the Trans-European Transport Corridor. Currently, the Suwałki Special Economic Zone S.A. manages the area covering the entire Podlaskie Voivodeship, 2 districts of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship: Ełk and Gołdap, and 4 districts of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship: Łosicki, Ostrów, Sokołów and Węgrów. An entrepreneur investing here can obtain the highest public aid available in the country under the Polish Investment Zone program. Additional benefits of investing in the area managed by SSSE S.A. within the Polish Investment Zone are low quantitative criteria and the possibility of settling reliefs for a period of up to 15 years.

Advantages and successes of the SEZ:
  • the highest State aid in the country up to 70% of eligible investment costs,
  • support also available for smaller investments - low quantitative criteria,
  • tax relief can be settled for a period of up to 15 years,
  • the leading industries of the area managed by Suwalska Special Economic Zone are: wood (including furniture and interior design), metal, machinery and plastics. The manufacturers are valued producers on world markets,
  • the region managed by SSSE S.A. is characterized by an unpolluted natural environment, which positively affects the development of the food industry, while the picturesqueness of the lake district is conducive to the boatbuilding and yacht industry,
  • SSSE S.A. has a wide selection of investment plots of various sizes and provides advice on state aid,
  • the proposed investment areas, located in modern industrial districts of cities and municipalities of north-eastern Poland, in most cases equipped with the necessary technical infrastructure.

  • The total amount of capital expenditure incurred by companies operating in the area managed by the SSSE from its start until now: over PLN 7.5 billion
  • Total number of employed: over 20,100
