The Warmia and Mazury Special Economic Zone is located in the north-eastern part of Poland, on the Vistula estuary, in the immediate vicinity of the eastern border of the European Union (it borders the Russian Kaliningrad District from the north), with a total area of approximately 33,525.5 km² (3,352,570 ha). The zone’s area includes two sub-areas: the Warmińsko-Mazurskie sub-area: almost the entire area of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship (19 out of 21 Poviats and cities with Poviat rights) and the Mazowieckie sub-area: the northern part of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship (11 out of 42 Poviats and cities with Poviat rights).

Advantages and successes of the Warmia and Mazury SEZ:
  • the highest national public aid granted to entrepreneurs - the amount of tax exemption may even amount to 70% of the value of eligible expenses,
  • the maximum amount of regional investment aid in the area managed by the Warmińsko-Mazurska Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna is 50% in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship and 35% of eligible expenditure in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship,
  • for medium-sized companies, the regulations increase the maximum amount of aid by 10%, and for small and micro companies by 20%.

  • The total amount of capital expenditure incurred by all companies operating in the Zone, from the year of its establishment till now: PLN 6.5 billion
  • Number of permits and decisions issued: 336
