The Special Economic Zone "Starachowice" S.A. was established in 1997 and is located in the central-eastern part of Poland. It covers a total area of 14,209.41 km2, in 3 Voivodeships: Świętokrzyskie, Mazowieckie and Lubelskie, comprising of 17 counties and 129 communes. The SEZ "Starachowice" S.A. has a favourable location between large urban agglomerations, i.e. Krakow, Warsaw, Lublin and Łódź, making it an attractive region for investment. Transport communication of the area with the largest centres in the country is provided by road and rail networks. The most important roads routes include roads No. 7, No. 9, No. 12, No. 17, No. 42, No. 73, No. 74, No. 77, No. 78, No. 79. Of significant importance for the economy in the region are the railway junctions in Kielce and Skarżysko Kamienna, the station in Sędziszów and the stations serving the mining industry and related processing: Rykoszyn, Sitkówka-Nowiny, Małogoszcz i Ożarów. Air transport is based on the Radom-Sadków airport in Radom and the communication airport located in Masłowo near Kielce. In February 2024, the Kielce Industrial Park*KPP) began its operations as a branch of the Special Economic Zone "Starachowice" S.A. KPP covers over 25 hectares of investment areas, of which over 20 hectares are undeveloped plots. These properties have an up-to-date spatial development plan (for production purposes). At the same time, SEZ "Starachowice" S.A., with the help of the Kielce branch, is constantly taking steps to expand its own portfolio of investment properties.

SEZ "Starachowice" S.A. belongs to the capital group of the Industrial Development Agency S.A.

Advantages and successes of SEZ:
  • a significant part of the area is based on highly developed industries: metallurgy, metal, machinery, building materials, ceramics, foundry and energy. The following industries are also developing: construction, trade, transport, fertilizer and chemical,
  • due to the positive values of the natural and cultural environment of the area, the tourism and recreational sector is developing,
  • the agricultural sector plays an important role in the area assigned to the Manager,
  • the area's regional smart specializations include, among other things: resource-efficient construction, the metal and foundry industry, modern agriculture and food processing, information and information technology (ICT) and others.

  • The total amount of capital expenditures incurred by all the companies operating on the basis of permits and decisions on support exceeds PLN 6.8 billion
  • The total employment realized by zone entrepreneurs is over 15,000 jobs
  • Leading sectors: ceramic, metal, chemical, automotive
