The Słupsk Special Economic Zone (SSSE) was established in 1997. The area of the SSEZ under the Polish Investment Zone program covers 16 counties in three Voivodeships: Pomorskie, Zachodniopomorskie and Wielkopolskie. The most important communication routes in this area are: the S6 expressway (east-west), which is part of the International European East-West route E28); National road S11 (north-south). Railway lines No. 202 (Gdańsk - Starogard) and 405 (Piła - Ustka) run through the area. The nearest passenger airports are located in Gdańsk (Rębiechowo), Szczecin (Goleniów), and seaports: Gdańsk, Gdynia and Świnoujście.
