Poland is a country of outstanding, innovative minds and engineers. We are able to develop innovative technologies and give them versatile, non-obvious applications. We respond not only to the current needs of the changing world, but we go as far into the future as possible with the proposed solutions. In doing so, we care about the quality and reliability of our products. We prove that the slogan "A Pole can do it" is true. This is what distinguishes us, which is why Polish companies from the dual-use sector should be seen as a natural direction of interest for international customers and investors, says Marlena Achinger, coordinator of the dual-use sector in the Brand HUB project.

The growing demand for modern technologies and innovative dual-use goods for the area of security, including the defence-related sector, creates space for further development of a strong and modern industry. This development is based not only on the introduction of new solutions to the domestic market, but also on increasingly strong international expansion. Last year, the main export direction for the defence industry alone was Ukraine, which received equipment with a total value of over $2.47 billion. Next came the United States (USD 30 million), Great Britain (USD 29 million), Germany (USD 21 million) and Norway (USD 17 million).

In addition to large state-owned and private enterprises, the strength of the Polish dual-use sector is also demonstrated by the growing number of small and medium-sized companies and technology start-ups.

The potential for further development of this sector is enormous. In the area related to ensuring security, including the defence sector, there is a lot of room not only for large state-owned companies. However, even the largest players can benefit from the innovation of start-ups and smaller private companies. It is worth developing platforms and programs for effective cooperation between them, especially programs conducive to the commercialization of R&D projects in key areas of this sector," emphasizes Piotr Placha, a Key Expert at the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

The Polish high-tech security and dual-use goods industry includes a wide range of products and systems related to, among others, unmanned systems, defence, transport and cybersecurity. Customers and users from all over the world appreciate this developed Polish industry and its production capabilities, enabling the provision of both comprehensive solutions and components, hardware and software.

Polish manufacturers work closely with research institutes, universities and science and technology parks. The development of this industry is supported, among others, by the Military University of Technology, which educates staff in the field of technologies related to security and defence. The combination of experience, science and innovation allows us to introduce solutions that not only meet today's needs but also meet the challenges of the future.

Polish companies prove that they can combine innovation with operational efficiency. Examples of such solutions like advanced reconnaissance drones, modern tactical communication systems or precision devices for dropping parachute charges show that Poland is becoming a serious player on the global scene of defence and dual-use technologies, says Col. Marcin Szymański, former chief of staff of the Special Forces Command of the Polish Armed Forces, an expert on security and sales of military equipment.

Manufacturers from the Polish high-tech and dual-use goods sector will present their offer at DSEI 2025, which will be held between the 9th-12th September this year in London. You will be able to learn about the versatile possibilities of this industry by visiting, among others the Polish National Stand, organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (N11-140). As part of the "Internationalization of SMEs - Brand HUB" project, PAIH builds international recognition of the Polish dual-use sector and supports entrepreneurs from this industry in their international expansion.
