Poland at Expo 2025: over 1.3 million visitors, the BIE Gold Award and the success of both culture and business

From the opening of the exhibition on the 13th April to its closing on the 13th October 2025, the Polish Pavilion welcomed over 1.3 million visitors. Poland's success was guaranteed by its rich program which included: economic, scientific, cultural as well as many projects which focused on the figure of Fryderyk Chopin. The exhibition in the Polish Pavilion was honored with the BIE Gold Award in the category of medium-sized pavilions with an exhibition area exhibition between 1,750 m² to 2,500 m².
The World Expo 2025 was an opportunity to promote Poland on the international arena, as well as an area for building relationships and exchanging experiences. In a world that is changing at a rapid pace, we have shown Poland as a country open to the future and international cooperation, successfully combining tradition with modernity. I am convinced that our presence in Osaka will contribute to the establishment of long-term partnerships and strengthen Poland's position as an important player on the global economic and cultural scene - emphasized Jacek Tomczak, Commissioner General of the Polish Section of the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
Poland's presence at Expo 2025 coincided with our country's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which further raised the rank of the events organized by the Polish Pavilion.
The Expo World Expo team has achieved the ambitious goal of presenting Poland on the international arena as a modern, innovative and open country to investment, and at the same time deeply rooted in tradition and respect for nature. In Poland’s Pavilion hundreds of exhibitions and special events, regional, cultural, scientific programs and concerts with the participation of the biggest names of the Polish music scene took place. All of them emphasized Poland’s diversity - its dynamic face, rich heritage and creative potential - summed up Michał Jaros, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development and Technology.
At the Expo in Osaka, more than 500 cultural events were organized in the pavilion. Chopin, jazz, art and design were what distinguished and attracted visitors to the Polish pavilion. However, business events were equally important. The economic program implemented as part of Poland's presence at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai was one of the most comprehensive and intensive in the history of our country’s participation in World Exhibitions. Its aim was not only to present the potential of Polish companies and institutions, but above all to establish lasting relations with partners from Japan and other countries in the region.
Expo 2025 is a turning point in building lasting economic relations between Poland and Japan, but also with the entire Asia-Pacific region and participants from all over the world. Hundreds of B2B meetings, forums and talks have brought concrete results – signed contracts, letters of intent and investment plans, which will be developed over the next months after the Exhibition ends - emphasized Łukasz Gwiazdowski, Deputy Chairman of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s Management Board.
The architectural concept and the originality of the exhibition in the Pavilion resulted in Poland being awarded three prestigious awards, including the BIE Gold Award for the best medium-sized pavilions exhibition.
Thanks to our joint commitment, Poland presented itself at Expo 2025 as a modern, dynamically developing country, ready for cooperation and dialogue with the whole world. The highest distinction for the Polish Pavilion, over a million visitors and the success of two economic forums and dozens of business meetings confirm that the work was done with the utmost care and at a global level - said Magdalena Skarżyńska, Deputy Chairman of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s Management Board.
The participation of Polish companies and institutions in Expo 2025 created convenient and realistic conditions for establishing new business contacts with Japanese partners. Thanks to the professional presentation of innovative technologies, modern products and specialized services, Polish companies have gained a chance to enter or strengthen their position on the demanding Japanese market. The result of these activities was the signing of a number of business agreements, as well as the development of distribution channels and an increase in the interest of exporting Polish goods - from food, through cosmetics, to industrial technologies and IT solutions. As a result, the position of Polish companies in Asia has significantly strengthened, and Japan has begun to be perceived as one of the key directions for the development of Polish trade and investment.
