PAIH with a mission in Asian countries

PAIH's economic mission to Asian countries, devoted to the high-tech sector, has ended. Its aim was to develop relations and build cooperation with leaders of technology industries, as well as to promote Poland as an attractive place for investment.

South Korea

The economic mission devoted to the semiconductor sector was chaired by the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Digital Affairs Rafał Rosiński, PAIH‘s Chairman Andrzej Dycha and Deputy Chairman Paweł Pudłowski. The delegation met with representatives of the Naver Corporation - a leading company in the South Korean ICT sector, offering a wide range of digital services. Chairman Andrzej Dycha emphasized Poland's openness to dialogue with investors and strong commitment to the development of cooperation with technical universities. Deputy Chairman Paweł Pudłowski drew attention to the consistent actions of all levels of public administration, which support the investment climate and build Poland's competitive advantage.

At SK Hynix headquarters in Seoul, a meeting of the Polish delegation with representatives of the company - a world leader in the high technology industry - was held. SK Hynix specializes in the production of DRAM and flash memory chips, and is one of the largest semiconductor suppliers in the world. During the talks, special emphasis was placed on the importance of the R&D SK Hynix investment in Gdańsk, awarded by PAIH with the title of "Research and Development Investment of the Year 2024". Representatives of the Polish delegation emphasized the commitment to the development of the semiconductor sector, investments in human capital and the synergy of industry and the scientific community as factors building the strength of the innovation ecosystem in Poland.

The delegation also held a meeting with representatives of Samsung SDS. The company specializes in providing advanced IT services in the field of cloud computing, data analytics, information security, digital logistics and technologies based on artificial intelligence. PAIH representatives confirmed their readiness to further support the company in the implementation of investment plans and the development of operations on the Polish market, offering full commitment to building long-term cooperation.

Japan

The participants of the economic mission met with the management of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC Group) - one of the largest Japanese financial institutions. PAIH’s representatives talked about the role of the semiconductor sector for the development of the Polish economy, as well as the opportunities for Japanese companies related to the energy transition process in Poland. The bank's representatives drew attention to the growing role of Poland as a preferred location for production projects - currently there are about 350 Japanese companies operating on the Polish market, most of which operate in this sector. SMBC emphasized its interest in our country, informing that only in the last 12 months they have published as many as three reports about Poland.

During their visit to Japan, the Agency's representatives met with the management of MUFG Bank, Japan's largest financial institution and one of the world's leading financial institutions. The Bank's representatives emphasized the interest of Japanese investors in sectors with high growth potential, such as electromobility and semiconductor technologies. PAIH’s Chairman Andrzej Dycha spoke about Polish-Japanese cooperation as part of the Reconstruction of Ukraine. He emphasized that the Agency has recently observed great interest in trilateral involvement among Japanese entities. The Bank expressed its readiness to act as an active partner in connecting companies from Japan with Polish enterprises.

China

During the CLNB 2025 New Energy Industry Chain Expo at the Suzhou International Centre, an investment forum dedicated to the automotive, electromobility and green energy sectors was held. The event was organized by PAIH in cooperation with Invest in Pomerania and Shanghai Metals Market. The meeting was attended by PAIH’s Deputy -Chairman Paweł Pudłowski and Deputy Director of the Investment Support Department Arkadiusz Tarnowski. They presented Poland’s potential as a partner for investors from the new energy sector. Presentations were also given by Partners from- Electromobility Poland and Colliers.

Hong Kong

The participants of the mission represented Polish technological thought at the international InnoEx fair in Hong Kong. The event was an opportunity to present innovative solutions from Polish companies such as Asseco, Autopay and Fluid Desk. During the fair, PAIH’s Deputy Chairman Paweł Pudłowski met with a member of the board of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, with whom the potential for further expansion of Polish companies into the local market was discussed.
