Huge potential for cooperation. Business Forum Poland-Azerbaijan

The Forum was opened by the speeches of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission. On the Polish side, the Deputy Minister of Development and Technology Michał Baranowski spoke, and on the Azerbaijani side, His Excellency Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Emergency Situations. The guests were also welcomed by PAIH’ s Chairman, Andrzej Dycha, and Nemat Nagdaliyev, Commercial Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Central Europe from the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan. The speakers unanimously emphasized the enormous economic potential of both countries, their growing importance in the world and the desire to develop partnership cooperation.
We are already noticing the first investment successes and growing trade between our countries. However, we have the ambition for these achievements to be the beginning of something bigger. We are extremely motivated to make Polish and Azerbaijani companies aware of the enormous opportunities that lie ahead of us - said Andrzej Dycha, PAIH’s Chairman.
The Forum was attended by representatives of 23 Azerbaijani and 83 Polish companies, representing mainly the construction, energy, tourism, agri-food, industry and trade industries. They took part in B2B match making sessions.
As part of the Forum, a bilateral meeting was also held, during which the prospects for the development of cooperation were discussed. The parties discussed the possibilities of increasing trade, including minimizing barriers, as well as investment opportunities. The participation of Polish companies in infrastructure projects related to the reconstruction of the Karabakh region was also discussed.
Trade turnover between Poland and Azerbaijan last year amounted to USD 147 million, of which Poland’s share was USD 138 million. Both countries see great opportunities to increase the volume of the flow of goods.
