A new chapter in Polish-Japanese investment relations thanks to the Osaka Forum

Over 400 participants, hundreds of partnership talks and specific investment plans - this is what the Polish-Japanese Investment Forum in Osaka looked like during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. The meeting showed that Poland and Japan are looking in the same direction: towards green transformation, a sustainable and competitive economy, digitization and innovation.

The Forum featured a number of panels on key topics related to cooperation, including the perspective of Polish-Japanese relations in the 21st century, Poland’s role as a gateway to Ukraine and the entire region, and the role of strategic infrastructure investments in strengthening mutual relations. Much attention was also paid to such promising issues as joint space exploration, the development of the semiconductor sector, AI technology and dual-use.

Our economic relations are a success story, rooted in strategic partnerships. For years, Japan has been one of the key investors in Poland. Poland and Japan share a common vision of innovation and technological development. For years, we have been looking for new solutions together to make our reality better and better, and we are creating conditions for our nations to walk a stable path of development - said Andrzej Dycha, PAIH’s Chairman, during the Forum’s opening ceremony.

During his speech, PAIH’s Deputy Chairman Paweł Pudłowski spoke about the opportunities offered by Polish-Japanese cooperation on large economic projects. He reminded that the investment climate in Poland is conducive to Japanese entrepreneurs, and PAIH provides comprehensive support at every stage of project implementation. Magdalena Skarżyńska, another of PAIH’s Deputy Chairmen emphasized the importance of promoting Poland by organizing business events as part of our country's presence at World Exhibitions. She reminded that thanks to great commitment, Poland builds its positive image not only in terms of culture or science, but also recognition in the economic aspect, conducive to Polish business. The Forum was also attended by a representation of PAIH’s Investment Support Department, presenting the Agency's offer and building relations with partners.

The very big interest in today's Forum indicates how much trust Poland and Japan have in each other and how much interest they have in the further development of our good relations. PAIH is ready to support every step of Japanese investments in Poland, from market analysis to administrative facilitation. I also believe that Polish companies are more confident in looking at projects that they can implement in Japan - Łukasz Gwiazdowski, PAIH’s Deputy Chairman, summed up the Forum in this way.

The event was also attended by, among others, Undersecretary of State Michał Jaros from the Ministry of Development and Technology, Undersecretary of State Konrad Gołota from the Ministry of State Assets, as well as representatives of PFR, KUKE, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, the Polish Space Agency, LOT Polish Airlines, Toyota Motor Company, Japan Bank of International Cooperation and the Commissioner General of the Polish Osaka World Expo 2025 Section, Kansai Jacek Tomczak.
