The “Port Polska” investment programme will strengthen the Polish economy

Activities to support the development of Polish companies, ensure security of supply, support the development of local jobs - these are some of the initiatives that will increase the resilience of our economy and the participation of the Polish component in the implementation of the Port Polska investment program. The Central Communication Port Company will be supported in these activities by the Industrial Development Agency (ARP) and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH).
Program inwestycyjny Port Polska wzmocni polską gospodarkę

It should be strongly emphasized that the implementation of the Port Polska investment program is not only a huge infrastructural change for Poland and this part of Europe. It is also a unique opportunity for the development and strengthening of the resilience of the Polish economy. Today's agreement is therefore in line with the strategic and priority assumptions of the Polish government related to the local content - said Maciej Lasek PhD, Secretary of State and Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port.

The signing of a letter of intent in this matter between the Central Communication Port, the company implementing the Port Polska investment program, the Industrial Development Agency and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency took place on the 13th April this year.

The largest investment program, which is the Port Polska, is currently entering the implementation phase. We have announced tenders and are looking for contractors. One of our priorities in the implementation of these tasks is to support the development of the Polish local job market, strengthen domestic production capacities and build our research and development potential. In the implementation of such a complex investment program, this is of great importance for the Polish economy. We hope that today's agreement will allow us to make the most of this opportunity - said Filip Czernicki, PhD, Port Polska, Chairman of the Management Board of “Centralny Port Komunikacyjny”, during the signing of the letter of intent.

On behalf of the Industrial Development Agency, the document was signed by Bartłomiej Babuśka, Chairman of the Management Board and Krzysztof Telega, Deputy Chairman. For the Polish Investment and Trade Agency the document was signed by Deputy Chairmen Magdalena Skarżyńska and Łukasz Gwiazdowski.

The agreement envisages, among other things, the exchange of information related to the search for contractors for the implementation of the Port Polska investment program and increasing the scale of production and research and development activities in Poland.

Changing the stage - from design to construction

The Port Polska investment programme is moving from the preparation phase to the implementation stage. Construction works are planned to start in September. This year alone, tenders for tasks worth about PLN 40 billion will be announced.

As part of the procedures already conducted, the company has introduced solutions that increase the chance that companies with experience in infrastructure investments in Poland and employing employees in our country will be maximally involved in the implementation of tasks, as well as contribute to ensuring safety and shortening the supply chain.

Thanks to the cooperation within the Port Polska investment, we will encourage foreign subcontractors to choose Poland as a place for the implementation of industrial projects. Together with the Central Communication Port and the Industrial Development Agency, we will promote investment areas in Poland and present the advantages of the investment climate in our country. We are convinced that Poland is the best place to locate projects in the aviation sector. Projects such as the Port Polska are a huge development impulse for Polish entrepreneurs, who, thanks to the cooperation that the government will promote, will gain access to know-how, new competencies, and this will make it easier for them to internationalize their business - emphasized Magdalena Skarżyńska, PAIH’s Deputy Chairman

The company's analyses show that it is possible that not all investments will be able to be carried out by domestic companies. Then the search for potential contractors can be supported by PAIH and ARP. The agencies will promote the possibility of fulfilling orders under the Port Polska investment program. They can also help support foreign companies interested in starting and developing their business in Poland.

When a foreign entity is selected as part of a tender, it is important to encourage it and make it as easy as possible to use domestic production capacities and resources of the Polish labour market. Here, too, it will be important to support both institutions, with which we are signing the agreement today - emphasizes Dariusz Kuś, Port Polska, Member of the Management Board of Centralny Port Komunikacyjny.

If, due to logistical or organizational conditions a foreign investor decides to build a headquarters or plant in Poland, which will enable the implementation of tasks for the needs of the Port Polska investment program, he will be able to count on the support of both agencies.

The signing of the agreement with the Central Communication Port company, which implements the Port Polska investment programme, is in line with the standard activities of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, which include support for Polish and foreign investors in the area of location consulting, state aid, and facilitating the establishment of relations with local authorities. I hope that thanks to the joint action under the Port Polska project, PAIH will be able to boast of a very good balance of activities around direct investment support in 2026. This will contribute to strengthening Polish's position as an attractive location for foreign investors and to the further development of our country - said Łukasz Gwiazdowski.

PAIH comprehensively assists foreign investors, including the establishing of cooperation with local authorities. The agency also advises companies on the choice of location. The ARP, on the other hand, has investment areas and ready-made industrial facilities where it is possible to conduct business.

Both PAIH and ARP specialize in consulting for the development and promotion of Polish entrepreneurship. They know the production, technological and investment capabilities of Polish companies. Cooperation with the Agencies will increase the possibility of acquiring and strengthening national technological competences.
