A Polish shipyard gains a contract in the USA

The Miami International Boat Show took place in mid-February. It is the largest event for the yachting industry in the Americas and one of the world's leading ones. In this year's edition, more than 1,000 brands exhibited. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), in cooperation with the Polish Chamber of the Marine Industry and Water Sports – POLBOAT, organized a National stand, where six Polish companies promoted their products. Among them was Lamdo Yachts, a shipyard from Giżycko. The company is the first Polish builder of exclusive motor yachts of the Trawler type. During the fair, they established a relationship with a contractor, which resulted in the conclusion of a sales contract.

We are both very happy and proud that we could participate in such an important event for us and for Poland. Our company is developing very quickly, less than eight months ago the first model left the shipyard. The fair in Miami, which is one of the largest in the world, was a great place for us to promote ourselves and acquire new customers. As a new Polish yacht manufacturer, we have established many interesting contacts, had a lot of meetings and answered a lot of questions. Thanks to PAIH, we have taken our first step in the United States, a breakthrough for the entire company - said Błażej Predko, owner of Lamdo Yachts.

There are over 1,000 companies operating in the Polish yacht and boat industry, employing approx. 45,000 people. In 2022, they built nearly 25,000 vessels - the most in the world. The United States are their main foreign recipient.

Many of these units are being built in dozens of small and medium-sized shipyards employing a few or a dozen people. It is all the more pleasing that Polish companies use PAIH's services and present their offer during leading trade fairs, and consequently sign sales contracts - said Michał Rzeźnik, manager of PAIH’s Foreign Trade Office in Chicago, which co-organized the promotional stand at the Miami Int. Boat Show.

The yacht and boat sector is one of 12 priority industries for the Polish economy. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency supports its development through cooperation with local business partners, the organization of promotional events and advice from experts from PAIH's Foreign Trade Offices.
