Sante strengthens its position on the Mongolian market

A year has passed since the Sante company, known for its production of health foods, entered the markets of Central and Eastern Asia. Thanks to the support of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the Polish brand’s products can regularly be found on the shelves in Mongolian shops. The main business partner is the country’s Emart chain of hypermarkets. The Mongolian market is an interesting direction for Polish exporters - emphasize PAIH experts.

Mongolia is considered a promising export market. The FMCG sector in particular is an opportunity for Polish producers. The high demand for imported health foods, supplements, vitamins, frozen vegetables and fruit is due to, the small local production. Mongolians associate "Made in Poland" products with high European quality. A year ago, this opportunity, with the help of PAIH was taken advantage of by Sante.

The cooperation between the Mongolian hypermarket chain Emart and the Polish company Sante began at the end of 2019. It was initiated by PAIH’s market experts in Ulan Bator. The Emart hypermarket chain is one of the leading ones in Mongolia. They became the main partner in the distribution of Sante products, shortly after its representatives met with our companies during the PAIH Business Forum. The Asian partners were impressed with Sante's products. In this way the Polish manufacturer made its debut on the Mongolian market - says Katarzyna Jedlińska, press spokesman for the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

Sante was established in 1992, setting trends on the health food market from the very beginning. Its rich and varied range of products offers over 200 items in the following categories: breakfast cereals, cookies and cereal bars, groats, grains, protein bars, peanut butter, vegetable drinks, vegetable pastes and pates. As well as this, their own modern factories in Poland, that meet stringent quality standards and safety confirmed by international certificates - these are not the only advantages of the Polish manufacturer. Year after year, Sante products receive awards from recognized market experts and consumers. Sante's showcase is the constantly growing range of products with no artificial additives - a short list of ingredients and the so-called "clean label". Sante has been actively developing as a company since its inception and is systematically expanding its distribution in Poland as well as on international markets. Currently, it exports its products to over 70 countries around the world. Some of them are on the shelves of Mongolian stores.

- Thanks to PAIH’s help, we introduced Granola, Muesli, Crunchy, but also FIT cookies, Crunchy cereal bars and GO ON protein bars to the Emart retail chain. We are closely observing the Mongolian food market because we want to build the loyalty of local consumers and provide them with more and more healthy Sante products. In 2021, we plan to introduce new products that we have already successfully introduced to other markets, where we have already received a positive response from our business partners and consumers alike. We plan to add plant-based drinks and peanut butter to our range. We are convinced that our next offer of products will be meet with great interest of Mongolian consumers - points out Piotr Kowalski, Export Department Manager in Sante.

We want every Mongolian family to start their day with a healthy breakfast, which is why our offer includes Sante products. We believe that thanks to this cooperation, we are making a contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and this is very important to us - says Oyunchimeg Ulziibayar from Sky Hypermarket LLC, which manages the Emart Mongolia supermarket chain.

According to the data of the Mongolian Statistical Office, last year the value of imports of products from the category in which there are, among other products, breakfast cereals and bars totaled $ 61.7 million. This means that in 2017-2019, the average annual growth in imports of this type of products soared by 40 percent. The Mongolian Statistical Office estimates the value of the retail market at nearly USD 1.17 billion.
