Entrepreneurship development - Dolny Śląsk
Under "Polish Investments" project implemented by the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), 800 new jobs will be created in the Lower Silesian Innovation and Science Park (DPIN).

BGK will finance the development of infrastructure of DPIN in Wrocław. Due to BGK loan, a modern office space will be created in the economic zone. The building called "Business House" is to attract companies from Dolny Śląsk region that should lead to the creation of 800 new jobs.

The activity of DPIN focuses on supporting entrepreneurs from the region in the development of their business projects.

"Polish Investments" is a programme initiated by the government, which aims to maintain economic growth by financing selected investments. The programme is addressed to private and public enterprises and local governments. (BGK / DPIN)

European Woodwork Centre
DRUTEX has started the construction of the second stage of the European Woodwork Centre. The investment value amounts to PLN100m.

New production facility will be equipped with machines and equipment for production of PVC woodwork, profile wrapping, as well as shutters and composite glass. Also new social and office facilities will be put in service.

The investment will lead to the increase in employment by several hundred people. The beginning of production in the new part of the Centre is planned for the first quarter of 2016. (Drutex)

CEEC EXPO 2015 in Ningbo - join the international fair
Under the GoChina programme PAIiIZ invites Polish companies to participate to business mission in Ningbo in China. The key point of the mission is CEEC EXPO. The events will be held between 7-12 June.


Central and Eastern European Countries’ Products Expo (CEEC EXPO) 2015 is the most important fairs of export goods from CEE countries. The fair is arranged on the occasion of the 14Th edition of the China International Consumer Goods Fair. The access to the fair is available for companies operating in the following sectors: agri-food, jewellery, cosmetics, modern design market products (glass, crystal, etc.), consumer goods, works of art, gifts, health care products, household appliances.

Business delegation from Shanghai - B2B meetings
We would like to invite Polish companies to take part in business meetings with investors from China. The meeting will be held on 15 April at 15:00, at the PAIiIZ Information Centre.

Chinese investors will be representing such sectors as: furniture, bicycles, robotics, innovation materials, aviation, insurances, real estates, health, tourism, raw materials, elevators, food industry, (food import), counselling, as well as industrial and technology parks.

Invest in Mali
PAIiIZ invites Polish companies and journalists to the seminary on opportunities in making trade-investment contacts in Mali as well as on investing incentives offered by the government of Mali. The meeting will take place on 14 April in PAIiIZ Information Centre.

Between 13 to 17 April, Poland will host Mali government delegation chaired by the Minister of Construction, Minister of Sport and president of the investment promotion agency - API Mali.

European Economic Congress - Katowice
Between 20 and 22 April, for the seventh time Katowice will host one of the most important business event - The European Economic Congress (EEC). During EEC, PAIiIZ co-organises the following session: “The 4th Europe - China Economic Forum (21.04), “Globalisation of the Polish foreign policy - Polish initiatives outside Europe” (21.04) and “Economic meetings. Poland - South Korea: Strategic Partnership” (22.04).

The leading subjects and highlights of the seventh EEC include: discussion on the programme of 300 billion euros for a new Europe - a large investment programme by the European Union and debates devoted to the role of the state in the economy. Participants will also discuss the innovative Europe, challenges to the global economy, new markets and new trends. Many opportunities to exchange views and experiences on industry and climate as well as CSR is waiting to all who join the forum.

Discussion will be divided in few Panels as: 3rd Africa - Central Europe Economic Cooperation Forum, 4th Europe - China Economic Forum, Poland-Japan economic meetings as well as the Annual Poland-Czech Republic Economic Meeting.

The First Industrial Investment Forum

Matchmaking meeting in Cologne
Take part in the matchmaking meeting between Polish and German companies that will be arranged by the Polish Trade and Investment Office of the Polish Embassy in Germany. The meeting will be held on 28 April in Cologne.

The meeting aims to support the development of cooperation between science sector in Poland and Germany under the EU Horizon 2020 Programme. It is dedicated to companies and science centres from such sectors as: ICT, energy, environment protection, NMP (Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials and Production) and transportation.

The meeting will be held in the Polish Trade and Investment Office in the Polish Consulate in Cologne. The access to the meeting is free of charge.

Entrepreneurship Days
Under PAIiIZ patronage, between 21-22 April, Poznań will held Poznań Entrepreneurship Days (DPP). The meeting is organised under the European SME Week.

This is the fifth Poznań Entrepreneurship Days (DPP). The event is dedicated to Polish micro and big companies. The main aim is to create a good climate for entrepreneurship and economic cooperation at the local, national and international levels. Poznań Entrepreneurship Days coincide with: Startup Poznań, Franchise Forum and Poznań Agglomeration Economic Forum.

Global expansion - a chance for business development
On 23 April 4th Forum Przedsiębiorców (4th Forum of Entrepreneurs) will be arranged by Grant Thornton at the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw. The event will be held under the PAIiIZ patronage.

Polish business is growing rapidly. The average size of companies in the country as well as the size of Polish market is among the most important barriers of business development in Poland. However, going out of domestic market creates new business opportunities. How to do achieves success in environment full of challenges will be discussed during the event.

Unemployment in Poland goes down
11,7% - this is level of unemployment in March 2015, according to preliminary data of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The estimates shows that it went down by 0,3% m/m.

The Ministry estimates that the unemployment decreased in all provinces in Poland. The best results was reported in Mazowsze where the number of unemployed went down by 7,3%. The employment market has significantly improved also in Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie and Wielkopolskie regions. In each of those provinces the level of unemployment went down by about 4,800 people. (Ministry of Labour and Social Policy)

Cosmetics - the true engine of Polish economy
Poland exports cosmetic to over 130 countries. Ministry of Economy expects that the total value of all kind of cosmetic products exported in 2014 will reach €3,4bn.

Europe is the biggest export destination of Polish cosmetics. 40% of them are sold in the Central Eastern Europe while the rest go to the West of Europe and other parts of the world, including Asia. Among the biggest receivers of cosmetic products from Poland there are: Russia (15.3% share of exports), Great Britain (12.1% share of exports) and Germany (11.9% share of exports).

International companies are the leaders in cosmetic sold production in Poland. On the other hand, Polish companies - mostly small and medium size ones - meet local needs and fill market niches. However, the importance of such Polish sector leader as: Inglot, Dr Irena Eris, Oceanic, Ziaja, Bell, Bielenda, DAX Cosmetics is growing also due to the presence on international markets.

Local producers have created a unique market position. They have successfully started to compete with global brands thanks to the combination of factors as: innovativeness, high quality and competitive prices of their products. Moreover, there is a growing tendency of investing in R&D activity in Polish cosmetics sector. The industry focuses on providing surveys on consumers’ preferences and the constant improvement of the quality of products. There is also an increasing importance of packaging - it should be suitable for recycling and environmentally friendly. (Ministry of Economy)

Pharmaceutics and biotechnology - Deloitte report
Deloitte has published the report entitled “2015 Global life sciences outlook. Adapting in an era of transformation”. As the authors argue, an aging population in many developed countries, coupled with lengthening life expectancies globally, should generate increasing demand for life sciences products to treat age-related diseases.

Life sciences sector including: pharma, biotech, medtech is considered as one of the most profitable and one of the most competitive industries. The pharmaceuticals segment is expected to generate all-time-high total revenues of $1.23 trillion in 2014. The North America region accounted for the largest share of the estimated 2014 global pharma market, at 41.9 percent, followed by Asia/Australia at 26.8%, Western Europe at 19.8%, Latin America, and transition economies.

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit, pharmaceutical sales are projected to increase an average of 6.9% annually over 2014-2018, outpacing the estimated global health care spending rate of 5.2% during that same period. Total pharma revenues are expected to increase from $1.23 trillion in 2014 to $1.61 trillion in 2018.

As for Poland, 2015 is expected to be dedicated to adaptation of new pharmaceutical law on drug distribution. (Deloitte)


Dolny Śląsk Education Cluster
In the Legnica Special Economic Zone, over fifty partners have just established the Education Cluster of Dolny Śląsk. It has been designed to jointly develop vocational education tailored to employers' needs.

Cluster is formed by vocational and technical schools, universities, local governments and authorities, local chambers of craft as well as companies and the regional Education Superintendent.

Establishment of Education Cluster of Dolny Śląsk will help to forecast the needs of local labour market for specific skills. It will also collect information regarding availability of apprenticeships. Also due to the cluster, the activities of schools and companies will be coordinated to develop the idea of dual education to make business - education centres cooperation much easier. (LSEZ)

Business and science cooperation in Warmia-Mazury SEZ
Warmia-Mazury SEZ launched the cooperation with the Complex of Construction Schools in Olsztyn. Thanks to the agreement, a class with a new profile of upholsterer is to be established in the school year 2015/2016.

By extending the cooperation of schools with employers and their commitment to the practical side of teaching, vocational students gain a better chance for employment, and employers - the access to qualified personnel. (Ministry of Economy)
