28 September: Polish Entrepreneur Day
The National Stadium in Warsaw became the venue of the Polish Entrepreneur Day that was held of 28 September. The event was arranged by Ministry of Economy, PAIiIZ, management of Polish SEZs and other institutions, and dedicated to foreign expansion of Polish business.

The effects of the ongoing governmental programme dedicated to the promotion of top Polish sectors abroad were also presented during the event. Deputy minister of Economy Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik announced that the programme will be continued and the list of new, top priority sectors will be published soon.

All participants of the Polish Entrepreneur Day were also offered a professional consulting. PAIiIZ experts advice entrepreneurs how to invest abroad and provide trade exchange all over the world including Africa and China.

Ningbo visiting £ód¼
On 25 September, £ód¼ Special Economic Zone hosted a meeting with representatives of the city of Ningbo in China. £ód¼-Ningbo Business Conference was the main highlight of the event. The business talks were then continued during the B2B talks.

During the event, Polish companies had the opportunity to establish business contacts with 30 representative of 20 Chinese companies from Ningbo, representing such sectors as: waste management, renewable energy, construction, real estate, tourism, e-commerce, medical equipment, lighting, automotive sector, electronics, clothing and food industries.

Ningbo is one of the leading economic centres of Zhejiang province and the second biggest city of the region, after Hangzhou. It is also a significant partner of the 16+1 project of cooperation between Central Eastern Europe countries with China. The city is famous in Europe due to hosting a Central and Eastern European Countries Products Expo - the biggest trade fair of CEE products in this part of the world.

Hebei visits PAIiIZ
Poland and China are now experiencing a rapid development of cooperation, at two levels - national and regional one. Due to that, the Agency hosted a delegation of Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce Investment Promotion Bureau accompanied by a group of business representatives from this northern province of China.

According to Na Shuchen, Deputy Secretary-General Hebei’s Bureau, the business offer of this Chinese region may be very attractive for entrepreneurs active in Poland.

Located in north China, Hebei borders with Yellow Sea from East and surrounds Beijing that is administratively separated area. This location makes Hebei a major economic centre of China. Among Hebei’s business delegation visiting Poland there were representatives of local economic zones, specializing in sea freight, as: Tangshan Port Economic Development Zone and Industrial Park for Middle Europe in Harbor Economic Development Zone. Poland was also visited by Hebei’s companies focusing on international trade and industry.

5th European Congress of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
Between 12-14 October Katowice will host the 5th European Congress of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

The event will gather business sector and the key important decision makers in the country. During the three day of the Congress, challenges and possibilities of development of small and medium-size enterprises will be discussed by the most significant personalities in Poland, representatives of science, politics and economy, as well as numerous foreign delegations.

5th National Food Congress
City of Opole and Exhibition and Congress Centre in Opole invite entrepreneurs to take part in the 5th National Congress of the food industry which will be held on 6 October 2015 at the CWK Opole, Wroc³awska St 158. PAIiIZ took the patronage over the event.

The congress creates the opportunity to exchange experience regarding trends in the food sector and new investments in the industry in Opole and region, as well as to establish contacts with potential local and foreign business partners.

Exhibitions, workshops and conferences will accompany the event. The guests will be also invited to take part in matchmaking meetings and take part in the conference on modern poultry farming.

West - East Trade Exchange
On 4 November 2015, the conference entitled "Transport as a key link in East-West trade exchange. Solutions for SMEs" will be held in Warsaw. The event will be arranged under the patronage of PAIiIZ.

The conference is addresses to SME’s that are planning to establish a trade exchange with eastern markets as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine or are already present there. During the event, Trade Exchange Consultation Points will be prepared. The entrepreneurs will have a chance to meet there representatives of accredited certifiers, big and medium-sized logistics operators and customs brokers and get processional consultation.

The conference is a non-profit event coinciding with the 3rd TransPoland - International Transport and Logistics Exhibition in Warsaw (4-6 November 2015, EXPO XXI, 12/14 Pradzyńskiego Street, Warsaw).

Poland increases competitiveness
Poland - one of the most competitive economies in the post-soviet Europe, has just been marked as 41st in the WEF’s Global Competitiveness Report. According to the data published on 30 September, the country is again going up in the report.

This year, Poland was appreciated for the high level of education, strong internal market and the improvement of infrastructure. The most significant increase was reported in terms of the “macroeconomic environment” of the country. In this category, Poland moved up by 17 positions to 46th place. In total, during the last 10 years, Poland has jumped by 6 places in the Global Competitiveness Report, while comparing to last year, Poland made a progress by 2 positions.

The current Global Competitiveness Report not only shows the strong position of Europe and the CEE, but it also reflects the growing position of Poland among other regional players. Among CEE countries with higher position than Poland there are only: Estonia (30th place); the Czech Republic (31st place) and Lithuania (36th place).

The list of top global most competitive courtiers has remained the same: Switzerland, Singapore, the US and is followed by Germany.

New industrial park in G³ogów
Legnica Special Economic Zone together with G³ogów community and NCC Spec Bau have created G³ogowski Park Przemys³owy (the G³ogów Industrial Park).

The newly established investment park in G³ogów has been designed to create attractive conditions for business by offering ready-made production, warehouse halls and office areas. (LSEZ)

£ód¼ - creative promotion at EXPO in Milan
The last week of September at EXPO 2015 is dedicated to £ód¼ and its creative, cultural and business offer.

£ódzkie province promotes itself in Milan as a centre of revitalization as this post-industrial region has successfully invested in creating alternative strategy of the business development.

£ód¼ - the capital city of the region has been presented at EXPO as a creative, vibrant centre of ambitious people. Visitors of the Polish Pavilion at EXPO 2015 in Milan have the opportunity to take part in graffiti and revitalization workshops and see the flash mob entitled “Droga do £ódzi”. Also a business offer of the province and its capital city will be presented there.

Polish companies to built European GPS
Poles will develop Galileo project - the European alternative for American Global Positioning System (GPS) and Russian GLONASS. The project will be co-financed under Horizon2020 EU Programme.

The European Commission has just granted 25 projects that are dedicated to the development of European geo-location systems. Polish companies are active in 1/5 international consortiums granted by European Commission under Horizon2020 programme. Among Polish partners to be involved in the project there are: Astri Polska, Elproma Elektronika, Instytut Geodezji i Kartografii, Blue Dot Solutions or Black Pearls venture capital found. (KPK)

Automotive September in Poland
Exactly 40 years ago, in September, 1975, the first Fiat 126P called “Maluch” that motorized the Polish society has been built in Poland. September is also an important moment for Opel as the company starts a new chapter of its history in Poland.

During 27 years, the Fiat factory in Tychy and Bielsko-Biala produced a total of 3,318,674 Fiat 126P cars. The production of this small and very popular vehicles finished in 2000.

The Fiat 126P 40th birthday day coincides with the premier of Opel’s 5th generation of Astra. The car will be produced in Opel’s factory in Gliwice. The official ceremony launching the production of Astra was held in the presence of deputy prime minister Janusz Piechociński.

The automotive sector is one of fastest growing in Poland and one of the most attractive for foreign investors. The portfolio of PAIiIZ automotive projects is the second biggest in terms of number of ongoing investments. Currently the Agency supports 33 such projects worth almost €687 m in total.
