Minister Schetyna with Polish 70 companies in China
Polish governmental delegation headed by minister of foreign affairs Grzegorz Schetyna is visiting China. The delegation also includes 70 companies from Poland. “Poland is looking for strong economic partners in the world. Therefore we have come to China”, commented PAIiIZ president who also takes part in the mission.

It is the forth time in a few months, when the Polish business delegation is visiting China. Big, receptive market, with a growing middle class increases the demand for high quality, organic food. This is the food sector that can play a key role in the increasing the Polish-Chinese trade exchange. There are other opportunities for Polish companies on the Chinese market in new technologies and infrastructure sectors.

Sławomir Majman: "We welcome the idea of
the New Silk Road"

The programme of the visit in China of Polish delegation started from the Polish - Chinese Business Forum in Beijing that was arranged by PAIiIZ and other partners on 17 June. The event was attended by 400 representatives of Polish and Chinese business who participated in the B2B talks. On the same day, Minister Grzegorz Schetyna, together with the minister of foreign affairs of China, Wang Yi, opened the first meeting of the Polish-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee in Beijing. Strengthen cooperation between Poland and China is the main objective of the committee.

Polish wings in Paris Air Show
In the capital city of France, International Paris Air Show was held - the oldest and one of the biggest aviation trade fairs. Polish companies presented their offer at the trade stand prepared by the City of Rzeszów. Also PAIiIZ, headed by deputy president Anna Polak-Kocińska, together with producers of airplanes and aviation components from the Eastern Poland were in Paris.

Over 2,200 exhibitors from all over the world, 7,000 business meetings and 200,000 expected visitors - those are the statistics of this year’s Paris Air Show. Poland was represented there by the “Aviation Valley” cluster. The presentation of the whole variety of the offer of this hub - from aircrafts made in Mielec to highly engineered engine components made by such companies as: WSK Rzeszów, Hispano Suiza or Ultratech - was arranged there. Also the delegation of companies from the Eastern Poland Macro-region headed by PAIiIZ deputy president Anna Polak-Kocińska came to the show to see the trends in the aviation industry and getting new business contracts.

The mission to the Paris Air Show was arranged by PAIiIZ under the Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Programme.

Delphi gets bigger with PAIiIZ
The automotive British company Delphi expanded Technical Centre in Kraków and officially opened it on 15 June. The investment was supported by PAIiIZ.

All over the world, car are equipped with parts and accessories designed by Delphi’s engineers from Kraków. The investor has two offices in the capital city of Małopolska, where 900 engineers and 300 employers of share service centres work. Under the investment, Deplhi’s laboratory was expanded where durability, environmental and vibration tests are implemented. Also in 2014, the number of new jobs increased by 200. According to Delphi representatives, the access to high quality workforce, good infrastructure and the governmental support are the key elements to Delphi’s successful development in Poland.

Two companies in Legnica SEZ
HMT and Schweiker decided to invest in Legnica Special Economic Zone.

HMT, the manufacturer of accessories for automotive, home suppliers and electronic industry will invest to increase the production and warehouse capacity of the company in the zone. Under the investment, 50 new jobs will be created. On the other hand, the producer of windows and doors, Schweiker will build a production hall and hire 30 people in Legnica SEZ. (LSEZ)

New production facility in Goleniów Industrial Park
Poland Fur Production will build the plant producing feed for mink breeding in Goleniów Industrial Park. The investment is planned for 2015-2018. In the plant several dozens of people will be employed.

Capital expenditures declared by the investor will exceed to PLN 35m. Goleniów Industrial Park becomes a cluster of the fur industry in Poland. Among companies already operating in the region there are Nafa, Norpol and HG Poland. "In our community the entire value chain associated with the processing of mink fur can be created, from breeding to auctions", commented the mayor of Goleniów Robert Krupowicz. (goleniow.pl)

World Investment Report 2015 - presentation
The most perspective investment destinations in the world and global trends of the inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) are the main highlights of the presentation of the World Investment Report 2015 that will be held at the same day all over the world - on 24 June. Hotel Regent, ul. Belederska 23, Warsaw is the Polish venue of presentation. The meeting starts at 10:00.

The latest World Investment Report 2015 report will be commented together by: the United Nations’ FDI expert professor Zbigniew Zimny, AmCham and PAIiIZ representatives.

20 years of German investors in Poland
Will Poland maintain the leading position in AHK (German - Polish Chamber of Trade and Industry) report? How do German investors assess the investment environment in Poland and what country is the biggest competitor regarding the investment attractiveness in the region? Those questions will be answered by experts of the Ministry of Economy, PAIiIZ, SEZs’ and investors representatives during the conference dedicated to investment attractiveness of Central - Eastern Europe.

During the conference the report summing up 20 years of German investments in Poland will be presented.

The meeting will be arranged by AHK and German Embassy on 24 June at 11:00 in the German Embassy in Warsaw (ul. Jazdów 12).

The access is free of charge, however only participants registered before the event will be able to participate in the meeting.

Bydgoszcz - Polish new production and logistics centre
On 22 June, Bydgoszcz will become a venue of the conference entitled: “Bydgoszcz. Polish New Production and Logistics Centre”.

During the event development opportunities of the city of Bydgoszcz, especially in the logistics industry will be presented. Located in the centre of Pomeranian Special Economic Zone and at the intersection of the national roads and the rail routes linking Warsaw, Tricity (Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot) and Poznań, in the close distance to the International, Bydgoszcz is an attractive investment destination. Although Bydgoszcz has not played a significant role in the Polish logistic map, it certainly has a great potential in the long term.

The meeting will be held on 22 June in Hotel Słoneczny Młyn at 13:00.

Forum of Polish entrepreneurs in Berlin
The Polish Trade and Investment Promotion Office in Cologne invites Polish companies to join the Forum of Polish entrepreneurs in Berlin. The meeting will be held on 25 June at 16:30.

Issues regarding law and taxes regulations in Germany will be discussed during the event.

The 3rd Regional Forum Poland - China
Under the PAIiIZ patronage, between 28 - 29 June the 3rd Regional Poland - China Forum in Łódź will be held. The Łódzkie Region is the host of the event.

Among the highlights of the 3rd Regional Forum Poland - China there are: transport, modern city management, promotion of business and tourism and educational exchange. Additionally, the programme will focus on activities of local authorities in Poland and China, the role of Central and Eastern Europe in rebuilding the New Silk Road “One Belt, one Road”. Speakers will also discuss the processes of urbanization in China and Poland.

On 15-16 October in Kraków, the Forum dedicated to HR managers working in SSC/BPO/ITO centers will be arranged.

20 years of Italian investments in Poland
Italy is Poland’s significant trade and business partner. 1,300 Italian companies operate in Poland while the total value of Italian investments in the country reached PLN 38 bn, write authors of the recently published KPMG report on Polish - Italian economic relations.

Italy is the 7th in the world and 4th in Europe biggest economy with gross domestic product nominal value reaching over $ 2bn. The country is very active on Polish market as it is the 4th biggest suppliers of goods to Poland. 22% of the luxury goods offered in Poland come from this country.

In Poland, that is considered by Italians as the best investment destination in the Central Eastern Europe, the Italian capital is the 6th biggest due to foreign investments. The number of Italian investments have been growing in Poland since the CEE leader entered the EU, to reach the level of PLN 38m in 2013, KPMG writes. The report also shows that 98% of Italian investors are satisfied with being in Poland, 57% already reinvested their capital there, while 60% of them plan to invest again in the incoming three years. Słupsk & PAIiIZ start to cooperate
Major of Słupsk Robert Biedroń and PAIiIZ deputy president Anna Polak - Kocińska signed a cooperation agreement between the city and the Agency.

The cooperation was signed to strengthen the economic promotion of Słupsk and its area, as well as to increase the competitiveness of the city in acquiring new investments. The signing ceremony was held during “From an idea to a successful international cooperation - Pomerania meets Scandinavia & Germany” conference that took place on 10 June in Słupsk Technology Incubator.
