Representatives of the world of business and politics from Poland and Uzbekistan discussed the possibilities of cooperation in areas such as transport, energy and agriculture. During the Forum numerous Polish entrepreneurs and representatives of public institutions of the Republic of Poland, among others. the Ministry of Development and Technology, the Ministry of State Assets, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, spoke with representatives of the most important Uzbek Government bodies and organizations such as the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food Industry Association and the Association for Economic Cooperation EuropeUzbekistan EvroUZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Forum, as part of the strengthening of Polish-Uzbek relations, several bilateral agreements were concluded. A cooperation agreement was signed by PAIH and the Foreign Investment Agency of Uzbekistan, an agreement on the establishment of the Poland-Uzbekistan Business Council was concluded by the National Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a memorandum of cooperation in the protection of the rights and legal interests of entities was signed by the Ombudsman for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Republic of Poland and the Commissioner to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Business Entities. The concluded agreements will be a real facilitation for entrepreneurs from both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit to Tashkent was also an opportunity for numerous talks and meetings. At the end of the Forum, entrepreneurs from Poland and Uzbekistan took part in extensive business networking with representatives of Government administration of both countries. The discussions were an opportunity to establish useful contacts and gain valuable experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uzbekistan:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Uzbekistan is a predominantly agricultural country, where for years cotton cultivation has been most important. Since 2017, as part of the implementation of their development strategy, the development of the textile industry has been focused on. Currently, its processing capacity is so large that the country has, from being an exporter become an importer of cotton. The urbanization pressure caused by demographic growth additionally determines significant investments in construction. It is predicted that over the next 15 years, Uzbekistan’s cities will need to be able to accommodate more than 7 million new residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to its openness to foreign investment and extensive trade relations with other countries, Uzbekistan is gaining new development opportunities and access to technology and know-how. It is also playing an increasingly active role on the international arena. The country’s strategic geographical location, abundant and diverse natural resources, and a large domestic market of 36 million citizens with a sustained upward demographic trend represent enormous potential for investment and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
