One of the key points of the visit was the Investment Forum “Polish Chemistry for Semiconductors”, which took place on the 7th May. The event was organized in cooperation with Taiwan Eastbound Alliance – Tea.La, an alliance of suppliers to the semiconductor industry. Its aim was to present Taiwanese companies from the semiconductor industry with the investment opportunities that await them in Poland. The forum was also addressed to companies that are suppliers of chemical components for the production of semiconductors, which may be future partners within the European investments of Intel and TSMC. The establishment of their plants in Poland is one of PAIH’s priorities for the coming years. The Forum met with a very good response from local companies, which expressed interest in learning more about investment opportunities in our country and cooperation with Polish companies from the chemical industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Forum was also an opportunity to present PAIH’s range of services, related to the ecosystem emerging in Central Europe, around the future plants of industry leaders. PAIH representatives presented Poland’s advantages conducive to locating semiconductor investments. Poland\u2019s geographical location, the proximity of future investments by TSMC and Intel, the availability of talent on our labour market, as well as the favourable legal and institutional environment for foreign investments were emphasized as key assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taiwanese participants of the Forum also received an invitation to come to the Polish Chemistry Congress in order to continue their talks and establish contacts with leaders of the chemical industry in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the first initiative addressed to the chemical sector as part of PAIH’s activities promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in Poland. It is part of the Agency’s long-term strategy, which assumes strengthening Poland\u2019s image as a strategic partner for investors looking for locations for new investments in Central Europe. We have a historic opportunity to develop the semiconductor industry in Poland, which is crucial for the implementation of Industry 4.0 and necessary in order for the Polish economy to remain competitive – said PAIH\u2019s Chairman Andrzej Dycha.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the Forum, the Agency\u2019s representatives held a number of meetings with companies, including the seventh largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world – Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation. They also visited Taiwan’s most important scientific and research institution, the Industrial Technology Research Institute. There was also a meeting with PAIH’s sister agency TAITRA. Chairman Andrzej Dycha also held talks with Jason Chen, CEO of Acer Incorporated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relations with Taiwanese business remain crucial from the point of view of the needs of the future semiconductor hub, which will take shape in Poland with the launch of the Intel plant. The agency already plans for further projects and visits, including participation in the largest trade fair for the semiconductor industry, SEMICON TAIWAN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
