CIIE is the largest trade fair organised by the Chinese government for companies interested in selling products and services to China. It gathered approx. 5.500 trade brokers and distributors.
Poland has one of the largest business delegations participating in CIIE and the largest national stand among all the EU participants. The 82 Polish companies represent food, cosmetics, jewellery and high-tech sectors. “The CIIE is the best opportunity in years to promote Polish products and know-how in China. We expect our participation in the fair to boost the recognition of the “Poland” brand in the Chinese market,” Andrzej Juchniewicz (PhD), the chief of the Shanghai-based PAIH trade office, stresses. According to Tomasz Pisula, PAIH’s CEO, the success of the Polish business in China is up to both Beijing-based government and the Polish entrepreneurs themselves. He deems that the best strategy for carving out a bigger piece of the Chinese market is to focus on quality, not on price.
Apart from representatives of Polish companies, the delegation comprises government officials including Polish Prime Minister's top aide Marek Suski, Minister of Agriculture Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology Tadeusz Kościński, President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) Tomasz Pisula and Chief Veterinarian Paweł Niemczuk.
