The new investor in Be³chatów

The investment was supported by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. -We are doing a great job in increasing the attractiveness of locations, which until now were not the first choice of foreign investors. We are beginning to see its effects, as international companies decide this year also for less traditional locations. We hope that the DS Smith investment will be the next step in this direction and the interest in investing in central Poland will be even greater -emphasizes Krzysztof Senger, vice-president of PAIH.

Belonging to the international concern DS Smith Polska Sp. z o.o. will build a plant at Czapliniecka Street in Be³chatów (£ódzkie Voivodeship). The factory will have an area of 3.5 thousand. sqm. Production is to start in the second half of 2020. In Be³chatów, high-quality corrugated paper packaging will be created for FMCG purpose, industrial-transport and personalized protective packaging.

Searching a plot for a new investor's plant, was supported by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. -From the very beginning of the search, we were very positively surprised by two things: the perfect location of the plot in terms of logistics, the area that suits our requirements when it comes to building the factory, but most of all the approach of the city authorities. We met with kindness and understanding that decided to locate the investment here -emphasizes the company’s president Krzysztof Sadowski. -We should also emphasize the large involvement of PAIH employees in the project of finding and selecting land for this investment. Virtually each of the visits to verify individual locations in terms of meeting our requirements for the construction of a new factory took place with their help and personal participation in meetings -adds Konrad Brzezowski, Technical Director DS Smith Polska and the Baltic Area.

In Be³chatów, DS Smith Polska plans to employ two hundred people. An additional hundred should find a job with its contractors, i.e. transport, cleaning and security companies. The vast majority of employees will be recruited in Be³chatów. -We do not expect experience working on corrugated paper packaging. We have a well-developed training system, so we will not require specialized knowledge - says the DS Smith Polska president.
