Engines for Toyota’s hybrid drivers to be manufactured in Poland

One of the longest-running foreign investors in Poland - Toyota Motor Europe will start production of a new generation 1.5-liter petrol engine at its plant in Jelcz-Laskowice (Lower Silesia). The company will invest PLN 400 million this time, which means its capital involvement in production projects in Poland will reach nearly PLN 4.5 billion. Production of the engines will begin in 2020.

- PAIH has been supporting Toyota's projects in Poland for years. We are glad that the company decided to carry out such big and innovative investment in Poland.  Our country's investing climate is so good that it attracts new investors and encourages the operating ones to invest again. Toyota's decision proves it - PAIH vice-president Krzysztof Senger stresses.

The engine is designed based on TNGA - Toyota New Global Architecture and will be used in hybrid drivers as well as traditional versions. Toyota cars will be equipped with the engines starting in 2020.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP) owns two manufacturing plants in Lower Silesia - in Jelcz-Laskowice and Wa³brzych which employ 2.300 people in total.
