Suwalska Specjalna Strefa EkonomicznaSuwalki Special Economic Zone, located in north-eastern Poland, features modern industrial districts ready for the implementation of investment projects by entrepreneurs pursuing manufacturing operations and providing services.

A major asset of the Zone, which operates in a region characterised by strong economic potential, is its great location - in the direct vicinity to the eastern border of the European Union and borders with Russia, Lithuania, and Belarus. The area of the Suwałki Special Economic Zone will be crossed by the Rail Baltica railway line which together with the Via Baltica road connection leading through Warsaw, Kaunas, Riga, and Tallinn will become a vital part of the European transport corridor. Furthermore, the plans for this region also provide for building Via Carpathia - an international route connecting Klaipeda in Lithuania with Thessaloniki in Greece.

At present, the Suwałki Special Economic Zone covers an area of over 635 hectares. The Zone is comprised of land situated in three voivodeships: Podlaskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie and Mazowieckie, divided among 18 locations - subzones.

Ostrów Mazowiecka, Małkinia Górna, Olecko, Zabłudów, are closed Subzones, in which modern factory running: Fabryki Mebli "FORTE", Rockwool Poland Sp. z o. o. , Z. P.-U. "PRAWDA" , SaMASZ SP. z o. o.

Subzone Gołdap: at present, the Management Board of the Suwałki Special Economic Zone S.A. conducts negotiations aimed to expand the Subzone’s borders.

The Suwałki Special Economic Zone offers a wide and diverse range of investment, comprehensive support for the investment process, as well as the ability to take advantage of the highest in the country tax reliefs.

The amount of State aid in the form of an income tax exemption on account of incurring costs related to the implementation of a new investment within the territory of the Suwałki Special Economic Zone, calculated on the value of invested capital, amounts to:

  • up to 50% in the case of large enterprises,
  • up to 60% in the case of medium-sized enterprises,
  • up to 70% in the case of micro and small enterprises.

The Zone offers the highest amount of State aid that may be obtained by an enterprise implementing investments in an economic zone in Poland.

The offered land, located in prospective and strategically situated towns and municipalities of north-eastern Poland, feature the necessary technical infrastructure. The Zone’s offer is enriched by laboratories of the Science and Technology Park in Ełk, enjoying the preferential treatment offered within the Suwałki Special Economic Zone, as well as educated and qualified staff.

Over those twenty years, the Suwałki Special Economic Zone issued 244 permits, and companies invested over 3 billion Polish zlotys and created nearly 10 thousand jobs. Owing to the investment areas within the Zone, modern industrial centres were developed, within which highly developed and technologically advanced manufacturing plants operate. The SSSE total area is 635.0653 ha. At investors' disposal are professionally-prepered investment areas in 14 subzones with total area of aprox. 208 ha.

In 2017 (as of 31.08.2017) The Suwałki Special Economic Zone JSC issued 11 new permits for conducting the productive activity in the Zone. Entrepreneurs declare the creation of approx. 100 new places of employment.

The value of investment will exceed the 80 m PLN.
